I thought you might be
interested to see the panoramic pictures that I have
from the Scotland Tour in March 2006. They have
been created by ‘stitching’ together pairs
of my 35mm negatives, using high-resolution scans, by
a professional photo lab. I'm pretty pleased with
the results!
The attached images below are secondary
scans of the small 'proof prints' that the lab gave
me, and are just to give you guys an idea of what
each actually looks like. I had a quick glimpse
of the info on his computer when the lab manager
(who did the work himself) was showing me what the
results looked like on-screen, and the 'master' file
for each panorama is about 16MB in high resolution. All
panoramas are in the ratio of 1:3 high:wide, which
makes it easier to make 'standard' sized prints from
them. Custom size prints can be created by
cropping and/or stretching the image, but that will
cost you extra!

Pan 5 – Eilean
Donan.
Probably
one of the most photographed castles in the world;
featured in the original ‘Highlander’ movie. Located
on Loch Alsh, opposite the southern tip of the Isle
of Skye. Home of Clan MacRae.

Pan
6 – Urquhart.
The
ruins of Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness. The
main drawbridge was being recreated during our visit,
and we used the temporary wooden footbridge (to the
left) to cross the moat into the castle itself.

If anyone is interested in having copies
of these, then please let me know. All prints
are produced on good quality heavy weight photographic
paper by a professional lab. The two smaller
sizes of print can be shipped flat in large board-backed
envelopes, but the larger sizes will have to be shipped
rolled in postal tubes; I am assured by the lab that
the prints will uncurl and flatten out under their
own weight. Please note that the calculation
of the cost of Postage is approximate, and is based
on one print of each size + its packaging. If
you are ordering more than one print of the same
size, let me know and I can recalculate the Postage
based on the number of prints you want.

Please note that all these prices are
in UK Pounds Sterling.
The photo lab stocks ready-made frames
for the 12" x 36", both plain and with a
mount, and believe me when I say that the 12" x
36" is a lot bigger than it sounds! Try
measuring out a space that large on one of your walls … and
then add a bit all around to allow for the frame. They
can also print these onto other things if you're interested:
mugs, canvas bags, mouse mats, t-shirts, etc. If
you’re interested, let me know and I’ll
find out about prices and shipping.
Payment methods:
My preferred payment would be by cheque; for those
of you outside the UK, my Bank will accept Travellers
Cheques in Pounds Sterling made
payable to me, which I can pay directly into my account.
Direct electronic
transfers are possible for those of you who have your
accounts with a Bank that uses BIC and IBAN numbers;
I can supply mine if your Bank can do these types of
transfer.
For those of you mad
enough to risk cash in the Post Awful, I can accept
Sterling or U.S. dollars.
For those of you who
want to use PayPal, you’ll have to add 5% to
the total price of your order, to
cover the cost of the PayPal fees!
