My DVD does not work:
Should you be unlucky enough to receive a faulty or damaged disc, please check the following before contacting HLWW:
• Often the cause of failure of a disk to play can be due to discs that have been handled incorrectly (ie. fingerprints or scratches on the read surface, discs forcibly removed from their casing causing cracks). Please take care when opening the DVD case and removing the disk.
• Occasionally discs have been found to not be compatible with certain DVD players. We encourage you to first check any problem discs on another brand of player before contacting HLWW
It is important that you check for either of the above before contacting HLWW.
It is most unusual for a disc to be faulty in any way when manufactured. However, there are rare instances of faulty batches.
If a problem persists, please email Aine with details and she will get back to you promptly.

1. No refunds or replacements are offered if you have changed your mind about the DVD, or you make an incorrect choice.
2. Refunds will only be offered where a replacement DVD can not be provided.
3. If your DVD arrives faulty or you find a defect arises after delivery and a valid claim is received by HLWW within 30 days of delivery, HLWW will exchange the DVD where possible, or refund you the purchase price of the DVD.
4. Should you contact us outside the 30 day period HLWW will consider each claim based on its merits.
5. Where HLWW has provisionally determined that a DVD is faulty, return shipping will be arranged at the expense of HLWW (Only if advice of fault is received within 30 days of dispatch of the DVD). We will make arrangements with you for the return of the DVD.
6. Where HLWW agrees to replace the DVD or refund you the purchase price of the DVD, you must first return the defective DVD to us. You will be obliged to pay for the return of the DVD if the item is sent after 30 days from dispatch.
7. If the DVD is deemed by HLWW NOT to be faulty, HLWW may in its absolute discretion refuse to replace the DVD or offer you a refund for the DVD.
8. When a DVD is replaced, your replacement DVD becomes your property and the returned faulty DVD becomes HLWW property.
9. HLWW reserves the right to test any returned faulty DVD.

A Word about
DVD Region Codes and Formats
As you may know, DVDs come in a range of formats, both in the type of media, and also the format they are recorded in.
Highlander WorldWide DVDs are DVD-R discs. These DVDs will play in most good quality DVD players.
Region Codes:
When DVDs were developed the World was divided into different Regions. Commercially produced DVDs are encoded with the Region (Countries) that the DVD will only be able to play in.
Most DVD players manufactured as ‘Multi-Region’ and can play a DVD for any Region.
For more information on Region Codes, please CLICK HERE
DVD players in computers are also Region coded. You can reset the region a number of times, before it finally locks onto any particular one.
HLWW DVDs are NOT Region encoded. They will play in DVD players/Computer in any country, regardless of if your DVD player is a Multi-Region player, or not. Subject to the format – see below.
Formats:
DVDs come in different formats, predominantly, NTSC or PAL. NTSC and PAL relate to the format your Television and DVD player is capable of receiving and playing. In most countries your Television and DVD player will be capable of both NTSC and PAL. Computers can interpret both.
For information on the NTSC format please CLICK HERE
For information on the PAL format please CLICK HERE
However, currently, our USA and Canada members are less likely to have a Television that can receive and playback a non NTSC signal.
The majority of HLWW DVD sales are to the USA/Canada and UK/Europe – all of which can play the NTSC format. HLWW members in other countries have indicated that the NTSC format is not an issue for them. Hence recent, and all new HLWW DVDs, are available in the NTSC format, only.
If this is a problem for you, or you would like further information on anything to do with HLWW DVDs, please contact our Merchandise Co-Ordinator, Aine |
